We’re on the road again – Ringo Starr with little help from his friends

Les deux anciens Beatles ont dévoilé jeudi 28 juillet le fruit de leur nouvelle collaboration. Le titre revient sur les années passées sur les routes lors de leurs nombreuses tournées.

Lorsque Paul McCartney et Ringo Starr se retrouvent en studio, leurs fans sont déchaînés. Le bassiste et le batteur des Beatles viennent de mettre en ligne, un tout nouveau single intitulé We’re on the road again (Nous sommes à nouveau sur la route, NDLR). Premier titre de son dix-neuvième album, Give Me More Love, Ringo Starr a convié plusieurs icônes du rock. En plus de Paul McCartney, dont le membre du groupe des Eagles, Joe Walsh. Edgar Winter et Steve Lukather de Toto ont également contribué au morceau.

Les deux anciens Beatles avaient déjà fait fantasmer leurs fans en publiant en début d’année une photo d’eux accompagnée de la légende: «Merci d’être venu et d’avoir joué de la bonne basse. Je t’aime mon gars. Peace and Love. Ringo Starr». Dans We’re on the road again, les deux artistes reviennent sur leurs années passées à silloner les routes, de concert en concert. Ils se promettent de poursuivre ce long voyage sur les routes. La basse de McCartney et les cris poussés par les rockeurs donnent à celui qui les écoute l’impression de se retrouver sur scène à leurs côtés.

Paul McCartney joue dans deux chansons du nouvel album (l’autre s’intitule Show me the way), les premiers enregistrements communs des deux seuls survivants du groupe qui a révolutionné la musique moderne, depuis 2010. Paul McCartney sera en bonne compagnie sur l’album avec notamment Joe Walsh et Timothy B. Schmit des Eagles, Dave Stewart du duo The Eurythmics, Peter Frampton ainsi que Steve Lukather, guitariste de Toto et prolifique musicien de studio.

Ringo Starr compte aussi se produire en public en octobre avec huit dates dans un casino de Las Vegas en octobre suivies d’une petite tournée aux Etats-Unis.
